Ureteropelvic Junction (UPJ) Obstruction
Ureteropelvic Junction (UPJ) Obstruction
UPJ is a complete or partial blockage at the site where the ureter (tube that carries urine from the kidney) and the kidney join. This prevents or limits the passage of urine. The blockage can be opened in a number of ways, including through a robot-assisted laparoscopic pyeloplasty. This surgical procedure reconstructs the obstructed area between the kidney and ureter.
