Patient Care
Our multidisciplinary medical teams include many dedicated specialists-surgeons, internal medicine specialists, anesthesiologists, nurses, rehabilitation therapists and social workers-who work with patients every step of the way, from diagnosis to treatment to follow-up care. This collaborative approach assures the highest quality care at The Miriam Hospital.

Program Manager
To ease the patient's concerns and to facilitate recovery, we provide assistance throughout the process. The program manager is a clinician who works in conjunction with the surgeon and staff to guide patients through surgery, recovery and rehabilitation. The program manager is available in person and by telephone to answer questions, help with scheduling, coordinate services, and provide emotional support to patients and their families. To ensure that every patient knows what to expect, the surgeon, program manager and care team discuss every aspect of treatment with their patient. Each patient benefits from individualized treatment plans and rehabilitation tools to help restore function as completely and quickly as possible.
Patient and Family Comfort is a Priority
Patient rooms aim to offer patients and their families a comfortable, convenient, and relaxing environment. Patients and their families also enjoy free telephone, television and wireless internet access, and high quality, flavorful, customized meals during their stay. Family involvement in patient care is encouraged on the unit.
The unit also features a walking path for patients to use during rehabilitative therapy. Progress on the walking path is measured by points marked by beautiful photographs of Rhode Island landmarks.
