Hannah C. Herc, PhD

Clinical Psychologist

Hannah C. Herc, PhD, is a clinical psychologist at the Rhode Island Hospital Adult Partial Hospital Program.

She received a doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Toledo and completed her residency at the Medical College of Georgia/Charlie Norwood Veterans Affairs Medical Center Consortium with a focus area in post-traumatic stress and related disorders, dialectical behavior therapy, and mindfulness/acceptance-based practices. Dr. Herc also holds a master of science degree in mental health research from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom with a research focus in mindfulness and acceptance-based practices.

Dr. Herc completed her postdoctoral fellowship at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where she received specialized training in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). She is interested in working with individuals who have been exposed to trauma and using ACT and other third-wave behavioral approaches creatively and compassionately to meet their needs. Through her research, Dr. Herc hopes to continue to provide empirical support for the use of ACT across a range of individual presentations and to better understand mechanisms of change across mindfulness and acceptance-based practices.

Dr. Herc is a member of the Association for Contextual Behavior Sciences and The Association of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies.
